Marissa's 4th Birthday

Image
Marissa turned 4 years-old yesterday! I can't believe that my baby is old enough to be four. Grandma gave her a cape and a crown to help her be a princess all year round. Marissa says that she is Snow White when she has this on. Grandmommy gave her an apron to help Mommy with cooking and cleaning. When she is wearing the apron she calls herself Cinderella. We went swimming at San Hallow Aquatic Center in St. George area for three hours! We were having so much fun we had no idea that we had been playing for that long. They have a kid area and a big kid area. Marissa was so proud that she could do the big kid things with a little help from Daddy. She got to go on the big, big slide all by herself (right after Daddy went so he could catch her at the bottom). They have "lilly pads" for kids to try and walk across and with a little guidance and stabilizing help form Daddy Marissa was able to make it all the way from one side to the other like the other kids. The Newst Member of Our Family

Everybody, I would like you to meet Jolie! Jolie is a seven-month-old Bichon Frese Doxon mix that we adopted three weeks ago today. She seems to be perfect fit for our family. She likes to play with the kids, go for walks, and to watch movies. Yesterday evening I took her on her first long walk. I didn't know if she could keep up or if she would get to tired before the walk was over. I figured I could slow down when she needed me to and then I could put her int he stroller/bike carriage with the kids if it was way to much for her. She really surprised me. She was right in step with me the whole time. When we got home I thought she would come in side get a drink and find her bed. However, she came inside got a drink and then proceeded to follow me, as usual, as I put the kids to bed. I don't know if she's a good little mother or if she just doesn't want to miss out on any of the action!

Welcome!

I decided I would try blogging. At the end of each year I think back and remember all the things that had happened. However, I'm starting to realize that I don't really know were time has gone and how exactly activities and events all happened. For the past few years I have been interested in writing fictional stories. I think I've gotten wrapped up in my pretend worlds I create in my writing long enough. I will continue to write, but I want to try my hand at reporting on the here and now. And what better events to report on than the people I love!
